Use these steps before trying to bill NJ FamilyCare doula services.
- Step 1Confirm the program path: NJ FamilyCare doula services.
- Step 2Set up provider identifiers: NJ FamilyCare provider ID / NPI.
- Step 3Check registry or certification: Enroll as an NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service community doula before MCO participation; maintain approved community doula training, background check, liability insurance, HIPAA, CPR, and cultural competency requirements.
- Step 4Open the billing portal or plan path: NJMMIS / Gainwell and NJ FamilyCare MCO pathways.
- Step 5Before the first claim, connect setup to eligibility, visit notes, rates, and payer routing.

If NJ FamilyCare doula services or a health plan asks for the doula taxonomy code, 374J00000X is the national doula taxonomy code. Still confirm certification, enrollment status, portal access, direct or group billing, and managed care contracting before billing.
