Program requirements
- Program: South Dakota Medicaid doula services
- Referral or recommendation: Retain the licensed-practitioner referral (or the care management program provider referral for BabyReady, Primary Care Provider Program, or Care Connect members); referrals may be made retroactive up to 60 days at the practitioner's discretion.
- Registry or provider setup: All servicing and billing NPIs must be enrolled with South Dakota Medicaid; doulas must be credentialed through a SD Medicaid-recognized oversight body (temporary bridge list includes DONA International, CAPPA, ICEA dual certificate, and others).
- Payer path: SD Medicaid Online Portal (DSS); CMS-1500 / 837P
