- Referral or recommendation: Recommendation by a physician or other licensed practitioner of the healing arts is required for DC Medicaid preventive doula services.
- Registry or provider setup: Enroll through the DC Provider Data Management System as provider type Doula; current DHCF materials require DHCF-approved doula certification until DC Health certification supersedes it.
